There is definitely a difference in pitch at the front end of the AEG but like any barrel extension or "suppressor" it does nothing to alter the noise made by the gearbox which is where the majority of noise is generated. This would only be worthwhile on something like a Polar Star. I have seen normal barrel extender supressors significantly change the noise output on a number of Polar Star's.
