Kryptek Mandrake Hat by Condor

I love me some nice camo, and to be totally honest I was very impressed with how well the Kryptek Mandrake pattern worked in the woods of the North East.  You can see in the pictures below, but man - this really blends in nicely.  I've always liked my multicam, but this may trump multicam for my local environment.

Some of the details: this is a baseball hat made by Condor and you can find it HERE at Airsoft Megastore for $14.95.  They also have a very similar version that has mesh on the top/back, so you can check that out as well.

As far as function...it's a baseball hat, so you should understand what that means - keep sun out of your eyes, give you some camo on your dome, etc.

As you can see above, I've put an American flag patch on the front and (as you can see below) there is a place for a tiny patch on the top of the hat and also space for a name tag/panel on the back.  Your adjustment option is one of those brass slides.

As you can see from the pics here, the pattern is very mix-and-match - kind of like A-TACS is blended and overlapping

In the trees with leaves, this also works quite well.

Voodoo Tactical Scorpion Range Bag - Review

Today we are looking at the Voodoo Tactical Scorpion Range bag which came to us from Airsplat.  You can find it over on their website HERE in either Tan or Black.  This bag will run your $48 and I have to say, I think that Voodoo Tactical is stepping-up their quality in manufacturing.  This bag is really nicely made.

Here are some of the features:

As you can see/read, this bag is more than just a standard bail-out bag with a shoulder strap.  And as if often the case, it's the smaller features that add up to the big benefits of a bag like this.

Here's a look at it from another angle.

On the front, we have 2 storage compartments.  They are slightly different sizes so you can carry smaller mags, batteries, gas adapters, plugs, dead rags, and much more.  You can also see the cross-stitching.  Now inside the different squares in the stitching is padding, so this bag offers your gear some additional safety because of the padding.

Open up on of the 3 larger sections, and here's what you see inside.  More internal store pockets, places for pens, small flashlights, and the like.  You also have a larger section with padding and a velcro pull-over tab where you could store an iPad or a Kindle if you'd like.

Double-zips are how you open the top to get into the main section.  This makes it easier to access all the items easily because there is such a large opening for the bag once you zip it open.

Inside...more storage.  Looking at the pics below you can see another internal section with a velcro pull-over tab, more elastic to hold mags and then on both ends of the INSIDE of the bag are 2 more pockets.    Again I'll note that that one of my favorite features of this bag is that when the main section is open, you can get into easily to get gear out, and when you want to return gear to it, you can do so easily as well.

On both ends of the bag are pockets like the one shown below.  In my opinion, these are perfect for phone storage when you are at an op or airsoft event.

Turning to the backside, you can see there is a clear ID pocket so you can let people know this is your bag.  More of the same stitching, and up top you can see the 2 carrying handles as well as the shoulder strap (which can be removed if you don't want to use it).

On the inside of the back panel, there is...more storage.  This section has 4 elastics to hold mags - M4s will be fine, AKs will be a bit tight, and things larger than that should just be stored somewhere else in the bag.

 Another feature of this bag that I really, REALLY like are the 4 'feet' shown below. These allow the bag to stand more firmly and they help give the bag more structure and form when you place it down.  Well-done Voodoo Tactical.

Here's the skinny - I'm impressed.  Voodoo Tactical has stepped up their game in the last few years as they take their quality to another level.  Now as is often the case, many airsoft items are used by real-steel operators or just citizen shooters, and that's the case with this bag.  It's made for real-steel but offers (as you have seen) a TON of space to bring your gear to an airsoft event.  Other than my BDU, my boots, and my AEG, this will hold what I need to head out for an airsoft op.  Check it out HERE, thanks to Airsplat for making this review possible, and thanks to you for reading this review.

The Condor Messenger Bag - Review

Today we are taking a look at the Condor Messenger bag.  The official name is the Condor Outdoor Tactical Modular Style Messenger Bag, but most people just call it a messenger bag.  You can get it by CLICKING HERE and heading over to Airsoft Megastore.  The cost is $44.95 and having used a variety of Condor gear in my lifetime, I can tell you they continue to improve their quality while keeping the prices very reasonable.

Here's a look at it.

Let's start off by saying this bag gives you a variety of possibilities when it comes to use.  You can certainly use it at an airsoft event, and down below in this post you can see all the stuff I fit into it.  But you can also use it as an everyday bag as it will fit books, pens, an iPad, and much more.

As you can tell from the picture above, there's MOLLE all over the front so if you wanted to, you could even attach a few other small pouches on the outside to store more gear.  You also have a velcro patch to attach for favorite patches.

Double-zippers on the front give you access to one of the 3 main pockets.  This one is pretty 'flat' so you can carry some items in it, but not a ton.

Here you can see the shoulder strap.  It is fully adjustable and if you want to, you can remove the extra padded section shown below.

Here's a look at the QD buckle for the strap.

When you lift up the front flap, you have access to these 3 pockets.  The bottom one is the longest and would hold a flash light or some paracord very nicely.  The other 2 can hold a ton of different items, and the one on the right has a clear front so you could put a business card/I.D. card in it.

In the center compartment, you can see that there is an elastic band to hold mags and keep them from moving all around.

Also in the center compartment is a mesh pocket to keep you gear organized.

Here's a look at the back - ergonomic and padded.

You can also see the extra strap for additional retention.  Essentially, one strap goes across your shoulder and one goes around your waist/torso.

Black Multi-Cam Contractor Hat from Tru-Spec

I saw it, I liked it, I got it, now I'm reviewing it.  This hat comes to CQB Radio from Airsplat (CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT ON THEIR WEBSITE).  It's the Tru-Spec Black Multi-Cam Contractor Hat.  Cost is $17.99, and I gotta say - it's pretty cool.  

So let's be real here - would this be useful in an airsoft op?  Well, it depends.  In a Northeastern forest during the day, I'd prefer regular multi-cam or regular woodland.  But I would definitely run this at a night op, or definitely at a cqb event.  An as an everyday hat - certainly.

As far as the fit, I did find it a little 'small' in the top i.e. it's not like a trucker's hat with a ton of space above the top of your head. I'd guess my head is average-sized to slightly larger, and this hat sits a bit more snug on me than maybe my Condor multi-cam hat.  But it's still comfortable - no issue or discomfort when wearing it.

Here's a look at it straight-on.  As you can see, the TS of Tru-Spec is stitched into the front section of Velcro.  I like this because if I don't want to add a patch, there's not just a huge blank patch in the front.  

And from the back.  Note another spot on the back with Velcro, as well as a small Velcro spot on top.

Let's compare the two styles of multi-cam.  The regular multi-cam is much more...well...colorful.  The black multi-cam - in these photos - looks more like black/dark blue and a bit of light green/gray.

Shenzhen Tactical 3-Day Backpack from Airsoft Atlanta

COOL new tac-pack from Airsoft Atlanta.  And the cost - only $26.99.  This is the Shezhen Tactical 3-Day Backpack (CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT OVER AT AIRSOFT ATLANTA).  Take a look.  

Here are some of the features:
- Tons of straps to adjust the pack, so it'll fit a kid or an adult
- Padded shoulder straps
- Zippers are smooth
- Velcro locations for patches
- MOLLE on the pack
- A variety of different-sized pockets

Just looking at, you can tell it's bigger than an assault pack.  Having used it, I can tell you that if you pack effectively you can use this for an overnight trip easily, and with no problem what so ever, you could put all your gear other than your AEG in this for an airsoft op.

Another look - this one looking at it straight on at the pack.   Basically 3 main compartments for storage - the larger main one, a middle, medium-sized one, and then the angled-zipper one on the front.

Here you can see two of the velcro locations for patches.  One is a standard size (about 3x5) and the other one is about 3/4 inch by 5 inches.   Pick a patch and make it happen, cap'n.

This is kind of unique - the front pocket is at an angle.  The purpose?  Not totally sure, but it does offer a kind of cool look.  Storage inside and molle on the outside.

Up top, there are a few things to note.  The handle makes it easy to carry the bag - grab it from the car and head out to an op.  Also, you've got an access point to run your hydration tube from, so no canteen needed - just run your hydration bladder.

On the sides, more molle and compression straps too, so you can stuff the bag and then 'smoosh' it down to get it to be more stream-lined.

On the back, you can see the padded shoulder straps.  D-rings are included so you can attach all kind of other gear.  Sternum strap  - now you can secure the pack even more effectively, and of course the waist strap allows you to keep the bag from bouncing all over the place when you are moving.

Here's another look up top at the handle and the opening for the hydration tube.

Here's a look inside the medium (middle) pocket.  Lots 'o' space - more than your average assault pack.

...and I mean just look at the storage in the main section.  And remember - only $26.99 for the pack.  Nice deal.

Down on the bottom - more molle and some straps so you can attach more gear - whatever you'd like, but it looks like it'd be perfect for a bed roll of some sort.
